John Denver became a star with the folk-based songs he composed, the majority of which were located in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. is a New Mexican born musician and singer who fell in love with Colorado. Denver's state anthems inspired many to visit Colorado. I don't think there's anyone else who represents Colorado as well as John Denver said G. Brown director of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame. Denver was inducted into the Hall of Fame as its first member in 2011. Denver has been the symbol of Colorado to the people all over. When I travel, you will meet people on the other side of the planet. As an example, you might meet an individual from New Zealand. And when someone asks you if you're from Colorado the response is "Oh John Denver!" Brown said. Denver's first Top 10 hit as a solo artist after a brief career performing in small folk groups comprised of Take Me Home Country Roads written by Bill Danoff. Danoff wrote the tune in the spirit of Johnny Cash, but Denver was able to hear an early version of the song and realized the song would be one of the Top 10 hits. Following the performance at Washington D.C. to a large audience, Denver recorded it just days later.
